Sam & Meg's Dried Floral October Wedding

Updated: Oct 10, 2024

October weddings always bring a special kind of charm, and Sam and Meg’s celebration was no exception. I had the pleasure of designing florals for their big day, which perfectly embodied the warm, cosy beauty of autumn. With a palette of rich, earthy tones and the timeless elegance of dried flowers, the arrangements felt both rustic and sophisticated.

The Dried Floral Bridal Bouquet

For the bridal bouquet, we chose a combination of dried blooms in deep, autumnal hues—burnt oranges, soft creams, and hints of burgundy. The bouquet featured pampas grass, dried wheat, and strawflowers to give it both texture and depth. The dried elements brought a lasting beauty and a sense of permanence, which was a meaningful touch for such a special occasion. The muted yet rich colors echoed the essence of the season, creating a warm and inviting look.

Bridesmaids Bouquets and Buttonholes

The bridesmaids' bouquets were smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, keeping the autumnal theme consistent throughout the wedding party. We used similar dried flowers and foliage, but kept the designs more simple and understated to allow the bride’s bouquet to shine. These smaller bouquets still held that natural, organic feel, with cascading pampas and dried ferns adding texture and movement.

For the buttonholes, we kept the design minimal but striking, using a mix of dried seed heads and small sprigs of wheat. The buttonholes tied together the rustic theme while giving a subtle nod to the season, and they complemented the earthy tones of the groom and groomsmen’s attire perfectly.

A Timeless Autumn Celebration

Sam and Meg’s wedding day was intimate and full of heart, with their florals playing a central role in creating the cosy, rustic atmosphere they dreamed of. The dried flowers were not only practical, lasting throughout the day without wilting, but they also brought a timeless elegance to the celebration.

Working with dried florals and such a beautiful fall palette was a creative joy, and seeing how it all came together for Sam and Meg’s special day was a truly rewarding experience.
